An installation window appears, where you can select options to help you
install the new software package. (See Figure 68.)

The options in the Installation dialog box allow you to update a currently
installed package to a new version, or test the installation without writing
the files.

Choose Install to install the rpm package that you selected.
Using the Command Line Tools
In addition to the kpackage utility, you can use the rpm command to work with
the software packages on your system. The rpm command provides much addi-
tional functionality, but can be a challenge to use because it has so many options.
The basic options of the rpm command are shown in the following list.

To query to see if a certain software package is installed on your Open-
Linux system (requires only the name of the package, not the version and
platform information):
rpm -q packagename
